Gratitude: Turkey…or Stuffing?

Is gratitude the main course…or the side dish?

Gratitude is top of mind this week - it is, after all, Thanksgiving. In preparing for our latest podcast episode, I got to thinking - in business (let alone life), is gratitude the turkey, or the stuffing? As much as I love stuffing, even if it were missing from the table I could still call it Thanksgiving dinner. But without the turkey? Well, that is a bit more of a stretch.

It can be easy to lose focus on gratitude, especially in the midst of chaos. Some might call gratitude a “nice to have” - one of those things that you do when you have time, or to ground you in appreciation when things are going well. But I believe it is the not only the center of the metaphorical table, but one of the best pragmatic tactics I know for sustaining and growing your business - and yourself - in times good, bad, and everything in between.

So this week, whatever your holiday celebration looks like, I’ll cast my vote that gratitude is at the center. To that end, if you are receiving this email it is because our paths have crossed in some way, and I am grateful for that connection. Thank you for the richness you bring to our, and others’, lives.

Wishing you a peaceful holiday -

Be well, and be grateful.
